In the Peruvian city of Chiclayo, just a few kilometers from the Pacific Ocean, nearly everyone knows Pope Leo XIV. For almost a decade, he walked its impoverished streets and villages before leaving for Rome in 2023, summoned by his predecessor, Pope Francis, to assume the presidency of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America.
