The man tied to the pole is the same painter we see in the DLC's cover art. He seems to be in a dire situation, where he starts arguing with a skull. Although we have yet to see why the painter has found himself in this predicament, the description suggests it's tied to his past.

KCD2 Expansion Pass will automatically receive the Brushes with Death DLC, as it's included in the bundle. The pass costs around $29.99 and provides additional content, like the Shields of Seasons Passing item set, which contains four shield designs to add more style to Henry's gear. If you didn't buy the pass, you can still purchase the DLC separately, though the pricing has yet to be revealed.

Brushes with Death isn't the only DLC coming to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. By autumn, we'll see Legacy of the Forge, where Henry will restore
