Covington police confirm they are looking into whether impairment is a factor in a wrong-way, head-on ****** that closed northbound Interstate 71/75 for hours on the Brent Spence Bridge early Monday.

All Northbound I-71/75 lanes are open again on the Brent Spence Bridge after a wrong-way, head-on ****** closed it for hours overnight, according to Kenton County dispatchers.

“We are still working to determine the cause of the accident, and we don’t know yet if alcohol or drugs were a factor,” Covington Police Spokesman Lt. Justini Bradbury tells FOX19 NOW.

The driver of a southbound vehicle in the northbound lanes hit a northbound vehicle head-on at 12:15 a.m. Monday, he confirms.

All Northbound I-71/75 lanes are open again on the Brent Spence Bridge after a serious ****** closed it for hours overnight, according to Kenton County dispatchers.

All lanes were closed until about 4:30 a.m.

Both drivers were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The wrong-way driver is listed in critical condition, according to Lt. Bradbury. The northbound driver is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, he added.

Both vehicles were occupied by only one driver, according to Lt. Bradbury.
