Topeka’s North Star Steakhouse temporarily closes after small grill fire

A small grill fire May 3 prompted North Star Steakhouse, 1100 N.W. 25th, to close temporarily to address a kitchen equipment malfunction, said Topeka Fire Marshal Alan C. Stahl.

A small grill fire May 3 prompted North Star Steakhouse, 1100 N.W. 25th, to close temporarily to address a kitchen equipment malfunction.

Fire caused no injuries

Firefighters responded about 5:07 p.m. May 3 to the blaze, which caused no injuries and no damage to the structure or equipment, Stahl said.

“The fire was contained to the grill area within the kitchen and was quickly extinguished by responding crews using a portable fire extinguisher,” he said.

Staff members evacuated the restaurant as a precaution, Stahl said.
