Millions of players continue to jump into the Remaster. It’s an incredible Remaster that also fills the void of the decade-plus wait for the Elder Scrolls 6. Currently, it’s still unknown if Bethesda will release more remasters. Rumors suggest that a Fallout 3 remake could be on the cards as well. As it’s one of the most beloved entries in the post-apocalyptic franchise, fans can’t wait to see where the remaster could go. However, one dedicated fan has already one-upped Howard and his team by reimaging an iconic Fallout 3 settlement with the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5. Megaton in Fallout 3 has never looked so good Megaton is one of the first settlements that players come across in Fallout 3. Its bulky designs and loud games make it impossible to overlook, especially when you add the welcoming Protectron positioned outside to greet passersby into the equation. What’s really special, or some might say twisted, about Megaton is that it’s built around an atomic bomb. The location presents Fallout 3 players with moral choices and unique characters. So, it’s not a surprise that it’s one of the most memorable locations in the post-apocalyptic franchise. Considering that it’s been more than a decade since the release of Fallout 3, Megatown and other settlements in the title have started to show their age in terms of visuals and fidelity. Fortunately, the Fallout 3 community is here to save the day. As we’ve already said, Bethesda is riding high on the remaster wave right now. A perfect way to take things further would be by dropping a high-quality remake of Fallout 3. Considering the studio’s work on Oblivion Remastered, Unreal Engine 5 can breathe new life into the post-apocalyptic game. Fallout 3 remaster must overhaul one gameplay mechanic This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Fallout 3‘s strongest suit. (Image via Bethesda Game Studios) Let’s be honest, Fallout 3 wasn’t a game known for its shooting mechanics. One of the biggest issues with the title to this date is its shooting gameplay. It’s horrendous when you compare it to modern titles, and if a remake is truly coming, the mechanic needs a major overhaul. Bringing new features such as aim-down sights, mantling, and sprinting can go a long way toward improving shooting in a potential remaster. Even Bruce Nesmith, one of the former developers of Fallout 3, states that any potential remaster should learn from the improved shooting mechanics seen in Fallout 4. However, a full-fledged remaster must challenge player expectations and even surpass the gunplay seen in Starfield. If Bethesda commits to such a degree of overhaul, the remaster could prove to be a standout experience, capable of competing with today’s best RPGs.
