Call of Duty Warzone’s iconic Verdansk map returns next month, Activision confirms

Activision has officially announced the date that Verdansk will return to Call of Duty: Warzone.

It’s long been known that Verdansk, which was the original map in Warzone, would be making a return at some point, with Activision announcing back in August 2024 that it planned to bring the map back in Spring 2025.

The publisher has now finally announced when exactly this will happen, stating on social media that the map will return in a month’s time.

“As we celebrate Call of Duty: Warzone’s 5 Year Anniversary, it’s time to revisit a place of unforgettable memories,” the official Call of Duty account

The release will coincide with the launch of ****** Ops 6 and Warzone Season 3, which was widely expected to launch on March 20 but was then delayed by two weeks.

Last week Activision stated that Season 3 was “a big moment for Call of Duty: Warzone and ****** Ops 6” and that it was “taking the time to deliver a great experience starting on April 3”.

reported that content creators had been playtesting Verdansk ahead of its anticipated launch alongside Season 3.

****** Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 launched on January 28 with relatively little on offer for battle royale players in terms of new content.

Activision explained at the time that Warzone updates previously planned for Season 2 had “been shifted to create bandwidth to address foundational issues” with the game.

That meant there was to be a focus on gameplay tuning, quality of life improvements and bug fixes, with their release staggered across Season 2.
