Yea, I remember being an ASM at a Gamestop store during that time, and reports of a high amount of red ringing demo units were already coming in BEFORE launch. They knew the console wasn’t ready, but shoved it out early anyways. It did have a great launch w exclusives, but consumer trust eroded by the end of that gen.
