Troopers said the Saturn was traveling northbound on State Route 3 when troopers said it did not stop at a red light at the intersection of E. Main Street, and continued northbound onto N. Market Street.

At the same time, a gray 2017 Dodge Ram pick-up truck was southbound on N. Market Street, followed by a white Lexus sedan. Troopers said the Saturn drove left of center, striking the Dodge Ram pick-up, the Saturn then continued northbound, and hit the Lexus, too.

The driver of the Saturn, who was killed in the ******, has been identified as Jerad Lane Shaw, 43, of Mount Vernon. Troopers said the driver of the Dodge was a 71-year-old man who was not injured and the driver of the Lexus was a 66-year-old man who was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

According to troopers, Shaw was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the ******. It’s unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved.

Troopers from the Ashland Highway Patrol Post are handling the ****** investigation.
