User u/REDSP1R1T replied to the above post saying how playing Vanguard is a ‘thankless job’, and it is possibly the truest thing that has been said on Marvel Rival’s subreddit in a while. Ever since the game’s launch back in December last year, there have been many problems with how players choose to form the team, and Vanguards have been overlooked ever since.

There are problems that go deeper than being the sole tank player in your team of 5. When it comes to a game like Marvel Rivals, with different game modes all requiring different strategies and a little luck in order to win, it becomes important to play together properly as a team.

Unfortunately, this simple logic flies over a lot of players’ heads, mainly duelists. Being the sole Vanguard on your team, you are probably smart enough to understand that the objective should be to create and maintain space on the objective area of the round, something that unfortunately you are always left alone to do while duelists and support players are out there getting their damage and healing statistics up.

It hasn’t been a long time since Marvel Rivals came out, and it will be a few months before it cements its place in the industry. Hopefully, until then, players will realize that supporting their tank players is possibly the best way to go about things if they wish to win the match.
