Nintendo has just added not one, but two amazing Game Boy titles to Switch Online: Mario’s Picross and Donkey Kong ’94. The former was the introduction to the logic-puzzle genre that seems ubiquitous today but was rare in 1995. Intriguingly enough, the same developer behind Mario’s Picross–Jupiter Corp.–has created the Picross S series on Switch.

Meanwhile, Donkey Kong ’94 begins almost like a remake of the original Donkey Kong arcade game. But from there, the Game Boy title turns into a puzzle-platformer with Mario as the protagonist trying to rescue Pauline. You can see a video showcasing both games in action below.

Now Playing: Nintendo Switch Online – March 2025 Game Boy Update Trailer

Last week, Nintendo announced it would delist a Switch Online game for the first time ever in Japan. Super Formation Soccer, known as Super Soccer in the US, will leave the subscription service on March 28.

Last month saw one of Nintendo’s weirder games come to Switch Online + Expansion Pack with Wario Land 4. Before that, the premium tier of the subscription service got the racing title Ridge Racer 64.

A Nintendo Switch Online membership costs $20 yearly for individuals ($35 for families) and provides access to Game Boy, NES, and SNES classic games. The higher-tier Expansion Pack goes for $50 annually ($80 for families) and offers additional benefits, such as classic libraries for Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and ***** Genesis.
