AFL: Fans slam gigantic Fox Footy scoreboard, change to channel 7

Despite Sydney and Hawthorn putting on a stellar season opener at the SCG, fans have been enraged by a change to a beloved staple of AFL broadcasts: the scoreboard.

His next post showed he’d switched to the free-to-air broadcast on Channel 7.

Plenty of other fans were on Bailey’s, who sought a trade to the Cattery from the Western Bulldogs during the off-season side, swamping multiple social media platforms with complaints.

Some fans mourned the loss of the old scoreboard graphic with crying emojis.

However, a page named The AFL Lab may have found a silver lining.

“The new Fox scoreboard was designed for pensioners watching the game on an ipad from 3m away,” they posted.

Other fans hoped the board would be changed at the halftime interval, having already become fed up with the new look.

Jayden Cameron felt more drastic action was required.

“Whoever determined the new score boxes should be sacked … immediately! They are disgusting!” he posted on X.

The scoreboard featured a new Friday Night Footy logo alongside team logos and full scores, the information-heavy graphic stretching out over half a screen.
