With the Illuminate Singularity Closing In, a Strike on Helldivers 2 Facilities Could Ignite Catastrophe

Helldivers 2 has seen quite a few interesting developments lately. The third person sci-fi shooter from PlayStation and Arrowhead Game Studios takes place in the far future, where humanity is locked in a second intergalactic war against ‘hostile’ forces.

Super Earth were slowly but surely heading towards victory against the Illuminate, closely following on the heels of their success in the first war. The Illuminate, however, are seen to launch a dastardly plan that involves colliding Super Earth into a ****** hole.

To add fuel to the fire of speculation, having this take place directly on certain facilities could spell doom for Super Earth and change the course of things entirely.

Those paying somewhat close attention to the events taking place in the background of Helldivers 2 would notice that a massive ****** hole is heading towards Earth. This ****** hole was torn open as a result of the mishaps of Super Earth way back in June 2024.

Now, it would appear that the hostile Illuminate are pushing it closer and closer towards Super Earth, by some method or the other. In short, the Illuminate plan to engulf Earth within the ****** hole, obliterating humanity for good this time.

One of Super Earth’s colonies, Angel’s Venture was hit by this horrific mishap, eliminating the planet off the face of the galaxy in the process. After all, the Illuminate had already gained control of the ****** hole months prior, charting it toward Super Earth.

This was a major ****** up on Super Earth’s part, and could very well shift the tides of war far from their favor in the process. This could also extend into a large scale invasion by the Illuminate on Super Earth – such as on Helldiver pods, destroying legions of armed forces in the process and ultimately making us lose the war.

Assuming this does go through, it could have some curious implications, and a loss for Super Earth could make for some additional gameplay/plot changes.

account (helldivers2game) laid out some rather interesting statistics regarding the total casualties (on either side) during the course of the second galactic war.

For starters, Super Earth has managed to amass over 280 billion kills using its rather successful Helldiver troops, which coincidentally also includes 38.5 million deaths by friendly fire.

It’s not the whole picture though – Helldivers have faced a rather massive number of casualties in the process of ‘defending’ their home. Approximately 2,783,000,000 Helldivers laid down their lives in the service of democracy.

These numbers keep adding up, and reflects a dire situation for Super Earth, as they quite literally are running out of manpower and resources in this quite pointless war of their own making.

Interestingly, the infographic also takes into account a total of 275 million hugs, which is quite amusing.

It’s the little things which make Helldivers 2 such a blast to play through, and engaging with the community is definitely one of them.
