The group faces various challenges and an aggressive number of bosses, and that’s exactly where bosses from the studio’s past franchises step in, including Dark Souls and hopefully Bloodborne at some point as well.

The primary reason for these existing bosses in Nightreign is from a gameplay perspective. Of course, with this new structure and with this new style of game, we needed a lot of different bosses. We needed a lot to add to this mix, so we wanted to leverage what we deemed appropriate from our previous titles.

Ishizaki ultimately discloses how adding already existing bosses to the newly rebuilt world of Nightreign helped get them the variety they needed to make the experience more fun for players. With the perfect mix of nostalgia and horror, the co-op title is going to trigger PTSD for long-time Souls fans and will instill fear in the new wave of players.

Elden Ring Nightreign is slated for public release on May 30th. Moreover, the studio has been conducting closed network tests to make sure the game is in top-notch condition, polished and refined by the feedback of the fans themselves before it is released to the masses.

Seeing enemies from Bloodborne, like the Orphan of Kos, appear in the coming title would definitely be a cool experience. After all, who doesn’t want to fight their worst nightmares once again? Unfortunately, with IP restrictions from Sony being one of the biggest reasons, it remains highly unlikely that any boss from the PlayStation exclusive will be making their way over anytime soon.

So far, the long list of enemies making an appearance once again in Nightreign includes the already discussed The Nameless King and a few faces (and fingers) we all would recognize from the original Elden Ring.
