Ashraf Tawfik, 60, showed up at headquarters at 12:14 p.m. Friday and confessed, East Brunswick police said in a statement.

“Authorities responded to his residence on Yorktown Road and found Marsail Botros, 58, of East Brunswick, unresponsive,” the East Brunswick Police Department said. “

Her husband was charged with *******, and two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, police said, citing prosecutors. He was being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center “pending the results of a pretrial detention hearing,” police said.
