Fremantle is also heavily pursuing a trade for contracted Melbourne small forward Kozzy Pickett and any move for Jackson could form part of a transaction. Jackson cost the Dockers two first-round picks and a second-round pick in the 2022 trade *******. The Dockers are also keen to lure out-of-contract Sydney star Chad Warner home to WA, but with their current draft hand, they aren’t in a position to afford both Warner and Pickett. Jackson also sees himself as a No.1 ruckman and will share ruck duties with Sean Darcy at the Dockers this season. Darcy is contracted at Fremantle until 2030. Playing in tandem with champion ruckman Max Gawn, Jackson played a pivotal role in swinging the 2021 grand final in the Demons’ favour. Gawn will turn 34 in December and Melbourne will soon be on the lookout for a successor for the seven-time All-*********** – a bill Jackson would clearly fit.
