Person dies after being struck by MBTA train in Providence, police say. What to know.

PROVIDENCE – A person was struck by an MBTA train and killed early Thursday morning, according to the Providence police.

The death happened near ***** Street in the Olneyville neighborhood, said Maj. David Lapatin.

Providence Line trains have been delayed this morning, “operating 30-40 minutes behind schedule after holding to accommodate passengers from Train 810,”

An investigation, led by Amtrak, continues, Lapatin said.
