Lara Croft posters were “inadvertently” removed

Earlier this month, fans spotted some suggestive posters found in a level in Tomb Raider 3 mysteriously disappeared after a recent patch, but they’re coming back in the next one. This patch made no note of the disappearance and led to a fair bit of speculation.

. Based on the post, it appears they disappeared due to several graphical overhauls to HD. Apparently, those were missed and were “inadvertently removed” as a result of the upgrades.

The posters are returning, though, as part of Patch 3, and while we don’t know when that’s coming, it at least puts to rest rumors surrounding the disappearance and makes it more clear that it was accidental rather than intentionally messing with what was supposed to be a decently faithful recreation of the classic Tomb Raider adventures.

“In the recently released Patch 2, we made several texture and graphical updates to the HD version. As part of these updates, the posters in Sleeping With The Fishes (The Lost Artifact) were inadvertently removed in the HD version of the game.

This has been resolved and these textures will be restored in Patch 3.“
