When prompted, you'll have to press and hold the designated buttons to hold onto the monster. If you fail, you'll lose a large chunk of stamina. Once your stamina comes down to 0, you'll be automatically dismounted As of writing, you can only mount large monsters in This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up . Also, you can't perform a Finisher right after mounting a monster. You'll need to deal damage consistently to convert your attack into a Finisher. You can also create wounds using Strong Knife attacks that will create wounds on the body of a monster. Wounds are more susceptible to damage, and you can also perform a Focus Strike to deal more hits to the monster's health. Once again, mounting monsters isn't the easiest task to perform in Monster Hunter Wilds, but mastering it can be extremely rewarding in the long run.
