has four unique skills you can upgrade throughout the game. Companions don’t level up each time you do; instead, they get a single ability point every few levels. I beat Avowed at level 28, just two shy of the level 30 cap, and I had eight upgrade points for each companion. Since each companion ability has four possible levels, you won’t be able to fully upgrade all their abilities.
