Hidetaka Miyazaki Regrets Not Adding More Bosses to Dark Souls 3 DLC

Hidetaka Miyazaki is one of the most renowned directors in the gaming industry, but that does not make him immune to making a few mistakes throughout his career. While his storytelling skills remain impeccable, the director himself has admitted how he could have improved a certain aspect of a Dark Souls 3 DLC when it was still possible to do so.

DS3 has had two installments of DLCs, however, the volume of the first DLC, Ashes of Ariandel is something that is always questioned by fans. While the extension did bring additional content for the players to enjoy, many feel that there could have been more added to it.

, Hidetaka Miyazaki engaged in a conversation revealing how he felt about the number of bosses in the first Dark Souls 3 DLC, stating-

“I don’t think Friede was a weak boss either. As for her, she should have been one of several bosses, but I think she lacked the “thickness” to be the only orthodox boss in the first DLC. In any case, this story is a point of honest reflection for us, and we will be conscious of this point of reflection as much as possible in the second DLC.”

Miyazaki mentions how Friede, one of the two bosses present in the DLC, was formidable in her own right, and how there should have been more bosses made available apart from her for the players to ****** against. This is something that the director has mentioned has been a point of reflection for the studio, and allowed them to work better for the second DLC of Dark Souls 3, The Ringed City, which featured 4 bosses instead, an improvement over the first extension for the game.

Coming back to the present, the community is hyped up once again as Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree is scheduled to release soon, bringing with itself additional content to FromSoftware’s best-selling game. Fans are also excited to see what new bosses in the DLC Miyazaki have created for the players to ****** against.

In the official gameplay trailer for the DLC, players have witnessed the introduction of Messmer the Impaler, a character that no one has ever heard of before and is most likely one of the main bosses that the extension plans to bring with itself. The significance of Messmer can be further understood by realizing how he is the one character that is portrayed on the Main Cover for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

It is also expected that the player will get to ****** the empyrean twin Miquella at the very end of the DLC. He is also the one character that will be guiding us throughout our journey through the Land of Shadow, a completely unknown realm that the player will set out to explore once the DLC finally comes out on 21st June.

Dark Souls and Elden Ring are available to purchase on Steam.
