Since Marius is one of the earlier companions you’ll pick up, you’ll likely use him for at least a short stretch before picking up Giatta in Emerald Stair. You’ll also need to use him during his companion quest later on in Galawain’s Tusks, so it’s worth knowing how to spend your upgrade points on him to keep him as a viable option. Depending on your class, you may want to run Marius for the majority of Avowed.
