Besides a lot of PC and console version changes, many bugs regarding autosave, mipmaps, server, etc. have been resolved. Still, fans think this Fallout 4 next-gen update doesn’t look like a next-generation update, as this new patch has brought more problems than ever.

Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update: A Nightmare for PC Players

Playing Fallout 4 on PC after the next-gen update feels like a nightmare to players.

The PC players of Fallout 4 are having a bad time after the recent next-gen update. First of all, the new patch is a staggering 14.4 GB, which is way more than normal patches or DLCs. After this update, using mods in this game has become a difficult task as there have been several issues regarding loading modded saves.

Also, non-Creation Club mods including the essential Fallout 4 Script Extender are suffering from several issues as well. Not only that, but players are also getting hit with missing updates.

The new update has made a disastrous impact in the graphical area as well. Unlike the promise made by Bethesda, the Creation engine is still unable to run the game at 60 FPS. The game screen along with the user interface and HUDs have been stretched randomly in the name of Ultra Wide support. Add to that, RTX users are still facing the sudden game ****** for the “******* Debris” graphic setting.

Like Skyrim’s special edition and The Witcher 3‘s next-gen update, this new Fallout 4 update seems to be more console-centric. But these annoying and persistent issues in the PC version are never a justification for that fact.

Fallout 4 PlayStation Players Are Suffering Too

PlayStation players are not free from the wrath of the next-gen update of Fallout 4 as well.

After the next-gen update, when players went to upgrade their PS4 version of the game via PlayStationPlus to their PS5’s, all they got was a pop-up option to buy the PS5 version separately. Surprisingly, for Xbox fans, there was no problem like this whatsoever.

However, Bethesda was quick to give a response in this adverse situation. They have shared an X post asking fans to wait until this issue gets fixed and were informed that the players facing the issue don’t have to buy the PS5 version.

The players who still bought the newer version, ignoring the announcement from Bethesda, might have spent unnecessarily, as there was no confirmation of any refund in this case from the company.

After a long wait for the next-gen update, it’s a big heartbreak for the Fallout 4 fans. We hope Bethesda steps on the field really quick and fixes all the persisting issues, to make the long wait worthwhile.
