After a trooper initially pulls over the Mustang, he notices an odor of ********** issuing from the pony car. The driver apparently thought

would be bad enough it was better to run, because he takes off form the stop in a hurry, as you can see in the dashcam footage.

, but this guy sure tries. But as he weaves through the decent amount of traffic on the highway, the trooper just closes up the gap like that Applebee’s that shut down at your belly-up local mall.

That’s when our suspect gets the

to whip around on the shoulder and drive in the opposite direction. He goes the wrong way on the highway, with semis, before cutting across an opening in the median cable barrier, going the right direction.

But the trooper isn’t far behind. The S197 driver gets off the highway and

on surface streets, but he’s in a rural area so there aren’t a bunch of turns and buildings to hide behind.

Perhaps realizing his predicament, the suspect pushes the Mustang past 140 mph on a long straightaway. The thing is ASP cruisers can match that speed, and the lead trooper does. Eventually, he gains on the pony car again.

A quick move by the Mustang and the suspect is off again, the trooper and his colleagues in hot pursuit. After all, the longer a chase goes on, the more likely police are to swarm the area, making escape that much harder.

This guy flogs the S197 hard, then starts throwing stuff out the window, like he’s trying to ditch evidence or something. He eventually runs headlong into a spike strip trap, drives into an open field, ending the car chase.
