Suspects wanted after shots fired at State Police in Dauphin County; search in Schuylkill County

SAINT CLAIR, Pa. (WHTM) — Pennsylvania State Police are seeking two teens after a multi-county incident and officer-involved shooting in the Midstate.

State Police say around 12:40 p.m. a driver on north on I-81 near mile marker 57.1, Silver Spring Township, Cumberland County, observed a passenger in a red Toyota Tundra pointing a firearm at other motorists.

This vehicle was located by a State Police-Harrisburg Trooper on I-81 near mile marker 78 in West Hanover Township and a traffic stop was initiated. The Toyota stopped on the shoulder, however fled shortly thereafter.

The vehicle fled off I-81 to a location in the 7000 block of Manor Drive, West Hanover Township, Dauphin County, where Troopers say an occupant from within fired multiple rounds from a pistol, striking one patrol vehicle. The fleeing vehicle reentered I-81 North, later exiting near Frackville, becoming disabled near a Walmart in St Clair Township, Schuylkill County.

Four subjects fled the vehicle on foot and two subjects were taken into custody. Troop L Frackville is leading efforts to apprehend the remaining two subjects. Troopers from Troop H, Troop L, and PSP Aviation assisted in this incident.

No Troopers were injured in this incident and a perimeter was established.

The Walmart and Coal Creek Commerce Center were both locked down during the incident.
