It hasn’t rained much for a while in the Naples area.

That’s expected to change Monday. Prepare for some waves of rain in Naples and Collier County.

predicts showers before 10 a.m., with showers continuing and thunderstorms possible after 10.

“Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall,” NWS said on its website.

How much rain is expected in Naples, Collier County, Florida on Monday, Feb. 24?

The weather service seems confident it is going to rain. Its web site said Sunday evening that the chance of precipitation is 80% for the Naples area. The chance of rain continues at 70% Monday night.

Rainfall amounts between 3/4 and 1 inch are possible Monday, the weather service predicted; 1/4 to 1/2 an inch of rain could fall Monday night.

Accuweather’s forecast showed the rain beginning Monday morning, around 7 a.m.

Will low pressure system impact Naples, Collier County, bring localized flooding?

The weather service’s Miami office said Sunday that an area of low pressure will be moving over Florida. It said:

“Model trends are coming into some agreement in regards to the system`s track, keeping its bulk over the southernmost portions of the peninsula and over the Keys.

With 1 to 2 inches predicted, some areas could expect localized flooding.

How much rain is normal for Naples, Collier County?

While it’s usually relatively dry this time of year, there’s been less rainfall than normal for the first part of 2025.

The last time it rained in Naples was Feb. 19, but that was just a tiny bit: .04 inches. It also rained a tad (.01 inches) on Feb. 3, but before that, it hadn’t rained since .09 inches fell on Jan. 23.

Monday’s rain might help the area catch up a bit. A little more than a half of an inch fell in January, compared to a normal 1.68. February’s normal is 2.06 inches.

The weather service reports that parts of the Naples and Collier County area have been abnormally dry, with some parts experiencing moderate drought conditions.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60. North wind around 6 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 77. Northeast wind around 6 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64. Light and variable wind.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 8 mph in the morning.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 62. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 56.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 74.
