The report states that Samsung’s foundry will build the the SoC (system-on-a-chip) for the console. It’s expected to be the Nvidia Tegra T239 chip manufactured via Samsung’s 7LPH process node. In addition, the fifth-generation V-NAND storage will be used for both the internal memory and game cartridge memory. Lastly, it was said that Samsung beat out multiple companies based in China to be the official display provider for the Nintendo Switch 2. The report of the Nintendo Switch 2 components comes on the heels of a report that the new iteration of the Joy-**** controller will connect to the system via magnetic strips as well as a release window of spring 2025. For what it’s worth, Business Korea says “industry sources” told the outlet the system could launch “as early as the second half of this year”. The latest rumors have the system scheduled for a June 2024 reveal, though there has been nothing concrete announced with just two months to go.
