Adelaide mother to face court after threatening to “slit” student’s throat

An Adelaide mother who threatened to “slit” a student’s throat multiple times in a violent tirade at her daughter’s private school is set to face court for assault.

The alleged incident occurred on February 3 where the 31-year-old woman was filmed in a heated confrontation with a student in a Year 8 classroom.

“You ever f***ing mess with my daughter again I’ll slit your f***ing throat,” the woman yelled in the video.

Premier Peter Malinauskas said the incident was “indefensible” on February 5.

“I don’t know what the circumstances were that led the parent to say those things, but whatever they were, they do not condone or justify those remarks in any circumstance whatsoever,” Mr Malinauskas said.

The unnamed mother later told7Newsher actions were wrong, but said the outburst was a consequence of being at “breaking point.”

She alleged her 13-year-old daughter had experienced “relentless” bullying.

On the day of the incident, she claims her daughter came home from school early, upset after a student had told her to go kill herself.

“I don’t want my daughter to be another statistic. I don’t want to have to bury my child.

“That is a breaking point for any parent … I went into survival mode, and protective mode.”

Police will allege the woman entered a classroom and verbally threatened a teenage girl.

She said she had tried everything to stop the bullying and begged for help from the school.

“I did everything in my power as a parent and so did my husband to make sure our daughter was safe, especially dropping her off at school,” she said.

“I have stated time and time again to the school that we are begging. We begged for help. We begged.”

The woman will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
