There was fresh snowfall prior to the weekend as well, with a tenth of an inch on Monday followed by 2.8 inches Wednesday in Appleton.

According to Jason Alumbaugh, meteorologist for National Weather Service Green Bay, the month of December saw 7.5 inches of accumulated snow in Appleton, while January saw a total of 3 inches. The 10.5 inches in those two months are just .4 inches more than what Appleton received in the last 10 days.

“There’s been times where the two systems storms that have happened in a week have dropped more snow. But I will say, the way that things have gone this winter so far, that’s a pretty active week for what we’ve been seeing this winter so far,” for sure.” Alumbaugh told The Post-Crescent.

Alumbaugh told The Post-Crescent that this week is expected to be quiet, as far as precipitation goes. The main thing is the temperatures, as bitter cold temperatures are expected for Monday and Tuesday. Here’s the forecast:

Monday: High of 3 with wind chills values between -20 and -25 during the day, and low of -10 with values of -20 and -25 at night

Tuesday: High of 8, with wind chill values between -20 and -30 during the day, low of -6, with wind chill values between -10 and -20
