However, the development team quickly realized that UE4 wasn’t up to the task. The team wanted to offer more dynamic and interactive environments, something UE4 struggled with, particularly when it came to environmental destruction.

We encountered a significant technical hurdle: our core environmental destruction system consistently fell short of expectations.

This issue made the developers shift their focus to UE5. After the jump to UE5, instantly the difference was visible as the team saw improved production efficiency, better visual quality, and gameplay.

With the new engine, the team was able to create a more vibrant, destructible world with detailed lighting and realistic interactions, adding depth to every battle. Ultimately, this transition made the game look more impressive and immersive than ever before.
