Two members of the public save unresponsive tourist from drowning at Little Beach near Albany

An unresponsive man was pulled from the water by beach-goers at a popular Great Southern tourist spot on Sunday, as emergency services rushed to the scene.

Emergency services were called to Little Beach, east of Albany in the Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve, at about 12.54pm after reports that a swimmer was face down in the water.

Police said emergency services arrived at the popular beach about 1.20pm to find two members of the public had pulled a man in his 60s unresponsive from the water and had commenced CPR.

St John WA treated the swimmer at the scene before conveying him to Albany Health Campus under priority conditions.

A WA Country Health spokesperson said the man, understood to be a Singaporean national, was in a stable condition in hospital on Monday.

This rescue comes after father of two Ricky Harris, 43, drowned last month at Native Dog Beach in Bremer Bay while saving two children caught in a rip, one of whom was his own son.
