on Sunday to announce their engagement, with the 25 year-old having popped the question down in Yallingup.

The couple have been together for about five years, with Ms Redwood a fixture by Green’s side throughout his rise up the WA ranks and into the Test side.

The fast-bowling all-rounder missed the summer of cricket due to back surgery he had in October.

Green, who has played 28 Tests, has not played for the national team since their one-day series in England in September.

He missed the home Test series against India and the away series in Sri Lanka but is expected to be back in action in April.

It means Green could feature in the World Test Championship final against South Africa at Lord’s in June, or Australia’s tour of the West Indies a month later.

Selectors are expected to rush him back into the fray, particularly after he scored 174 not out in Wellington in the last Test series he played.
