New ALDI store coming to Rochester region. Here’s where

The town of Ontario, Wayne County, is getting an ALDI store.

On Feb. 11, the town’s Planning Board gave final site plan approval for a location at 1903 Route 104. The parcel is between a Fastrac gas station and convenience store and a Dunkin’ Donuts.

At 20,264 square feet, the Ontario ALDI will be slightly smaller than the one that opened last June at 1733 E. Ridge Road in Irondequoit.

Ontario Town Supervisor Ben Aman said he expects construction to begin sometime in late 2025 or early 2026.

The only other ALDI in Wayne County is at 20 Route 31 in Lyons. However, the one over the Monroe County line at 915 Ridge Road in Webster is closer to Ontario.

“Our residents and our community is really excited for this,” Aman said of the forthcoming store.

as part of the next phase of its five-year national growth strategy. This is the most stores ALDI will open in one year in its nearly 50-year history in the United States.

In 2024, the no-frills supermarket chain opened nearly 120 stores, bringing the total count to more than 2,400.
