*********** cricket legend Jason Gillespie entertained the crowd at a sportsman’s night hosted by the Albany and Districts Cricket Association on Tuesday, February 4.

Gillespie, nicknamed “Dizzy”, was on a regional tour of WA with Mouse Promotions, visiting other towns in the Great Southern and Wheatbelt.

The ADCA and MM Electrical joined forces for a sportsman’s at the North Road pavilion, with more than 50 people in attendance.

Gillespie, a champion *********** fast bowler, featured for his country in all three formats in a decorated career.

The 49-year-old took 259 wickets in 71 test matches and made a brilliant 201 not out while also playing 97 One-Day Internationals and one T20 International.

Gillespie has now moved into the coaching space and recently quit sensationally as head coach of Pakistan’s national team.

Those in the crowd listened to Gillespie’s journey from a youngster born in Sydney to go on and make his test debut in 1996 before retiring from first-class cricket in 2008.

After speaking openly about his life, Gillespie answered questions from the crowd and then signed memorabilia.
