You’ll be Regretting Insomniac’s Decision to Cancel the Live-Service Multiplayer Marvel’s Spider-Man Game After Watching the Leaked Trailer

It almost feels like Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse came to PlayStation. We never know what’s happening on the inside, maybe a fascinating game is under wraps and someone ******* it without even the world knowing about it. But some online sleuths are on the work to bring the news that may spark a heaty debate.

The latest ***** suggests just the same as a new video of a Spider-Man game that surfaced on the internet. Insomniac’s Spider-Man has got the critics sitting on the edge of their chairs and is a commercial success. The first game in the series is also considered one of the best games based on comic books.

This Could Be The Biggest Heartbreak For Spider-Man Fans Ever

All the Spider-Man variants were likely to come against Sinister Six in the game,

By the looks of the video, it definitely holds the potential to become the best comic book-based video game. It appeared like a multiverse game given the appearance of multiple variants in it. Dubbed Spider-Man: The Great Web, it was supposed to be a co-op and a live service game.

The video shows multiplayer elements with visually stunning gameplay that might easily ***** a player from the very first minute of the game. Moreover, all the Spideys were up against Sinister Six, a band of supervillains in the Spiderverse.

 

The opening dialogue of the game, which is narrated by voice actor Yuri Lowenthal,  goes like this,

New York City. Nothing in the whole world I wouldn’t do for this big, beautiful apple. One moment you’re scarfing down a slice from Vinnie’s, the next – you’re stopping a super-villain prison break. Sometimes you can swing it as a lone wolf, but you’re way better off with some friends. I’ve seen the Sinister Six before… But never so methodical – so savage. I don’t think I’m going to be enough this time, guys. But together, we just might be.’

Fans witnessed some leaked images associated with the game a few months back and this is the first time a video was put on the table in front of them.

Nothing’s Official But Fans Must Not Make Castles in The Air

Spider-Man: The Great Web was supposed to be a live-service game.

Though it was already known in the previous ***** that The Great Web is lost forever and after what fans just saw in the video, it could not be more heartbreaking to see a game succumbing to corporate affairs. While it received support from Insomniac it was reportedly left on the table by Sony as it pursued single-player games.

It is similar to a recent affair where a Twisted Metal game was in development but it was canceled as Sony chose a path to sustainability that affected Firesprite, its British development arm.

However, there is no announcement or ***** that indicates the game has been abandoned. If that is the case and Sony gives it a go, it will be a dream come true for Spider-Man fans across the globe.
