Obtaining fruits in

is an easy task. All you have to do is go to the Merchant Island, which is directly south-west of the Starter Island. There, you will find the Random Fruit NPC behind a pink stall. Interacting with them will cost you 25 crystals, and in return, you will get a random fruit in your inventory.





To learn the fruit's moveset, equip it and then use it by clicking M1. Note that doing this will overwrite your previous fruit. To open your inventory and see all the fruits that you have, press "~" (button above Tab) on your keyboard.

In case you end up with too many fruit in your inventory, you can use Backspace to drop a specific fruit to the ground (others will be able to pick it up). You can also throw away all the unequipped fruits by interacting with the Trash Bag that is next to the yellow stall on the same island.
