The player meets Doey shortly into Chapter 4 while attempting to get out of the prison and deeper into the facility. He helps the player escape from the Pianosaurus, before guiding them onward toward the Safe Haven. Even in that first meeting, the player seems aware that there is more to Doey than meets the eye, and he has a strange relationship with everyone around him.
