********* Airlines swung to a loss in the first quarter but its forecast for the current ******* surpassed analysts’ estimates, sending shares roughly 4% higher.

********* expects to earn between $1.15 and $1.45 per share in the second quarter, on an adjusted basis, largely above the $1.18 analysts compiled by LSEG estimated on average. ********* reiterated its forecast to earn between $2.25 and $3.25 per share for the full year.

“While we aren’t satisfied with our first-quarter financial results, we have a strong foundation in place, and we remain on track to deliver on our full-year financial targets,” CEO Robert Isom said in an earnings release.
