Sideshow bust leads to 160 mph police chase in Sacramento

(FOX40.COM) — A sideshow bust in Sacramento led to a police chase that reached more than 160 mph, according to the California Highway Patrol.

to break up a sideshow. As patrol units arrived, participants and spectators dispersed and a CHP Valley K-9 attempted to make a stop on a highspeed vehicle.

“The suspect recklessly fled from numerous agencies reaching speeds in excess of 160 mph,” CHP said. “The suspect led CHP and allied agencies through a lengthy pursuit as units lost visual and discontinued the pursuit.”

CHP said an Air-21 (airplane) stayed with the vehicle which came to a stop in front of a residence in Sacramento. The driver and passenger fled on foot, however, A-21 reportedly directed officers to the suspects’ location and they were taken into custody without incident.
