Gold Coast reveal bold new Gather Round design with pink jumper already dividing fans

Just months after they completely rebranded, Gold Coast have released a striking new jumper.

The Suns will become the first-ever team in the AFL to wear predominately pink in a match when they wear their new pink and grey number designed for Gather Round.

They take on North Melbourne in the Barossa Valley.

And Gold Coast have declared the jumper is part of a bid to “set new boundaries beyond those imposed on us in 2025”.

The Suns’ new logo features the letters G and C and a waveform. It features prominently in all three of the jumpers they have unveiled for this season.

They say this one pays tribute to “the quintessential pink skies of a Gold Coast sunrise and reflects the evolution of the Gold Coast Suns — modern, agile and unshackled from long-standing tradition”.

“I think it’s a really fresh and modern design. We want to be fearless, and in order to do that, we have to stand out,” vice-captain Touk Miller said.

“It’s a bold move, it’s different and no one else is doing what we’re doing. We’re trying to separate ourselves from the rest of the pack and this is one way of doing just that.”

It wasn’t a hit with everyone on social media, with one commentor suggesting a white jumper had been left in the wash with the coloured clothes and another comparing it to the iconic kits worn by the West Indies during World Series Cricket.

But others loved it, with one Suns fan page calling it “groundbreaking and stunning”.
