Polk County Sheriff’s Office identifies 26-year-old Des Moines woman killed in ******

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office identified a woman who was killed in a single-vehicle ****** Sunday morning on Highway 141 outside of Grimes as 26-year-old Kayla Breanne Frommelt.

Polk County deputies found Frommelt’s car in the west ditch, where it had struck a tree. Frommelt, the only person in the car, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Authorities identified Frommelt, who lived in Des Moines, on Monday afternoon.

Preliminary investigation shows Frommelt was traveling southbound and lost control of the vehicle. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what caused the ******.

Deputies were called to the 12100 block of Highway 141 at about 9 a.m. The highway was closed while deputies investigated, the release said.
