Call of Duty: ****** Ops 6 and Warzone’s latest double XP event was supposed to end on February 10, but Activision is extending the promotion for 48 more hours due to the PSN outage.

In a social media post, the developer said, “Didn’t get to play as much as you wanted over the weekend? We got you.” The double XP event will now end at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on February 12. It was previously expected to end at the same time on February 10.

This double XP ******* covers double XP for player progression, weapons, and Gobblegum earn rate. Only the PSN went down this weekend, but the double XP event is extended across all platforms. Activision also held a ****** Ops 6 free trial February 6-10, but that event doesn’t appear to be part of the extension.

Activision isn’t the only company compensating players for the downtime, as Capcom is extending the Monster Hunter Wilds beta due to the outage.

The PSN went down on Friday, February 7 and didn’t come back online for about 24 hours. Sony said the downtime was due to an “operational issue,” but that answer wasn’t enough for many fans who are asking Sony to provide more specifics as to what happened and why, and what’s being done to help ensure this does not happen again.

This was the second-longest PSN downtime ever, only surpassed by the infamous 2011 PSN downtime that was the result of hackers attacking the network. As compensation, Sony is offering all PlayStation Plus members an extra five days on their subscription for the 2025 outage.
