Premiership Eagles remember ‘jovial’ former teammate Adam Hunter following 43-year-old’s death

Premiership Eagle Michael Braun has shared a tribute to his fallen teammate Adam Hunter following the 43-year-old’s death on Wednesday.

As a host of former players and AFL personalities remember the star, Braun reflected on his friendship with Hunter through a series of photos posted to social media which captured the Ex-Eagle’s essence.

The first image shows Hunter and Braun dressed smartly in button-up shirts. The second features Braun’s ex-wife, Bree Johnson, and newly appointed Sydney head coach Dean Cox.

A third photo captures Hunter’s sense of humour, poking his tongue in the direction of Ms Johnson.

Cox, a former Eagles ruckman, played alongside the pair in West Coast’s 2006 premiership-winning team which was coached by John Worsfold.

With photos speaking to the legacy and relationships Hunter left behind, Braun shared another telling image on Saturday which framed him alongside a larger group of Eagles teammates in a reunion at The Wembley Hotel.

He captioned the image “Brothers in arms”.

Drew Banfield, Sam Butler, Darren Glass, Ashley Sampi, Quenten ******, Andrew Embley, Ben Cousins, Beau Waters, Mark Seaby, and Steven Armstrong were among the former teammates.

Brent Staker, a former Eagle who was not in attendance, responded with a love heart as he remembered the defender.

Hunter was found unresponsive at a home near Bunbury early Thursday morning after training with his South Bunbury club.

In a tragic week for the AFL, former player Troy Selwood died 24 hours earlier.
