As you explore the Infested Abyss in Remnant 2, you’ll likely encounter a statue up against a large red Root. After engaging in a conversation with the statue, you’ll have the choice to submit to it or ****** it.

Before you make a decision, you’ll want to use this guide. Read further to learn if you should submit to the Root in Remnant 2.

The decision you make here should depend on what type of Archetype you’re using. This is because if you submit to the Root you will get rewarded with the Profane Soul Stone, an amulet that increases the potential of the Summoner and Handler Archetype. However, if you decide to ******, you will get rewarded with the Near-Sighted mutator after defeating the statue. Here is what each of these rewards do:

• Profane Soul Stone: Increases Summons Damage by 30% and Summon Movement Speed by 15. reduces total Damage Reduction by 10% per active summon.
• Near-Sighted mutator: 10% damage boost to enemies within seven meters.

If you enjoy using the Summoner or Handler Archetypes, then you should one hundred percent choose to submit to the Root. The Profane Soul stone can make the dog of the Handler or the summons of the Summoner much deadlier and much more effective.

On the other hand, if you hate the Summoner and Handler Archetypes and don’t plan on ever using them, you should ****** the statue instead and claim yourself the Near-Sighted mutator. While nothing extraordinary, the Near-Sighted Mutator can still be very useful for close encounter gunfights such as with a shotgun.
