The investigation began after drug agents first stopped Marcus “Spurt” Agee for driving with an expired license plate. Inside his car, the agent said, authorities found about 58 grams of fentanyl. Afterward, Agee agreed to set up a buy, but the plan backfired on him after an alleged drug dealer told authorities he could lead them to Agee’s “stash” spot at a home in the 800 block of 23rd Street. Inside the home, agents found over 2.3 pounds of fentanyl hidden behind an air conditioner vent and thousands of blue drug-laced pills in the home’s attic. Both Agee and the home’s owner, identified as Jermiya Renee Spears, are now jailed without bond on federal charges of conspiracy to distribute drugs. After their arrests, Nix said Spears admitted conspiring with Agee to stash the drugs at the home. After the initial traffic stop, Agee agreed to buy more fentanyl from his alleged drug dealer. He then called the dealer to buy over two ounces of fentanyl, referred to by Agee as “juice.” The two agreed to meet behind a Sonic near Walmart in Gulfport to do the transaction.. The alleged seller turned the tables on Agee at that point, according to Nix, and told the agents that he had sold fentanyl to Agee on various occasions in recent weeks, adding that he could lead them to Agee’s “stash” spot. The drug agents went to the home armed with a search warrant that led to the seizure. Both Agee and Spears remained jailed without bond. In addition, the alleged seller, Gulfport police arrested Marcus Taneal Lloyd, 35, and Tracy Antione McCall, 39, on charges of possession of a controlled substance..
