EA is ‘currently investigating’ numerous issues with The Sims 1 & 2 re-releases

EA says it’s investigating reports that its recent re-releases of The Sims and The Sims 2 have numerous issues.

Last Friday, EA re-released The Sims and The Sims 2 as new Legacy Collection versions, with all previous DLC included (except an IKEA pack released for The Sims 2).

However, over the weekend, players have been reporting numerous issues with the game, ranging from gameplay bugs and graphical errors to the game simply not loading at all.

acknowledging the problems, telling players it’s looking into solutions.

“Sul Sul Simmers,” the statement reads. “We recognize some fans are currently experiencing various issues with The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection.

“We are currently investigating these issues and hope to have more information on fixes soon. To help with our investigations, please ensure you’re including screenshots, videos, dxdiags, and (for TS1) vulkaninfo.exe files in your bug reports.”

The original version of The Sims has proved particularly tricky to play in the modern era because it was never released digitally, meaning players will have to find the original game disc from 2000, find a disc drive for their PC and search for user-created patches designed to get it running on today’s hardware.

The Sims: Legacy Collection, then, marks the first ever digital release of The Sims, but it appears that it hasn’t come without teething problems.
