Fremantle Dockers star recruit Shai Bolton injures calf at training, in doubt for All Stars game

Fremantle star recruit Shai Bolton has suffered a calf injury at training this week and is in doubt for the highly-anticipated All Stars game.

The 26-year-old was sent for scans on Friday afternoon with the club hopeful the injury is minor, 7NEWS’ Ryan Daniels reports.

Bolton was one of the marquee players announced for the All Stars clash with the Dockers at Optus Stadium on February 15.

Fremantle then face Melbourne at Rushton Park in an official pre-season game on March 2.

Dockers vice-captain Caleb Serong this week said he was in awe of Bolton in his first pre-season in purple.

“His talent and what he does with the footy in hand is unbelievable,” Serong said.

“His competitiveness is something that has shone out to me and how much when the game’s on the line in our match sim — even if it’s a 10-minute match sim — how much he wants to win and how much he wants to be involved.

“He’s been great since he’s come in the door, he’s worked his backside off and I can’t wait to see him in the purple colours round one.”
