Little Rock police confirm arrest in Catholic High teen deadly shooting

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock police have confirmed that an arrest has been made in connection to a shooting that killed 15-year-old John Staats.

Officials with the Little Rock Police Department did not identify the suspect, but police said a juvenile was arrested. The suspect is facing a capital ******* charge in connection to Staats’ death.

Little Rock police investigating shooting after child found dead in vehicle

According to the LRPD, Staats was found dead inside of a vehicle in the 8000 block of Stanton Road after being shot and killed Tuesday, Jan. 28.

Staats was a student at Catholic High School for Boys. Shauna and Ray Staats, the victim’s parents, and officials with the school released a statement following his death.

Investigators with the LPRD said they will not be releasing any additional information on the shooting due to a judge sealing the case.
