Sen. Tommy Tuberville on Thursday boasted that his soon-to-be-born granddaughter will not be vaccinated.

“I’m having my first granddaughter here in a couple weeks, and my son and his wife have done their research about vaccines and she’s not going to be a pincushion. We’re not going to allow that to happen,” the Alabama Democrat said to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee.

Tuberville made the remarks as he complained about vaccine development in recent years. Vaccine skeptics, such as RFK Jr., have falsely claimed that vaccines are not safe for children. Kennedy in the past has criticized the COVID-19, polio, and measles vaccines, and pushed a campaign that falsely suggests vaccines cause autism.
