Avalanche Software has arrived with a fantastic free update for the community. Today, January 30, 2025, the developers launched official mod support for Hogwarts Legacy on PCs. Though modding has always been available for this game on PC, the developers have now released official channels for players to not only play mods but also bring forth their inner developers to create mods for the community. This guide will explain how to install and play Hogwarts Legacy Mods.

How to Install Mods for Hogwarts Legacy? 

As Hogwarts Legacy is a single-player game, players don’t need to worry about getting banned for using mods. Additionally, the developers themselves provide the key to the door. There are several ways to access mods for the game. If you want to play them, the developers have released an in-game mod manager. The official Hogwarts Legacy mods will be managed and published by Curse Forge, and players will need a Steam or Epic Games Store account linked to a Warner Bros. Games account to access them. To access the mod manager, you must download the latest update (Build Version – 1326194). Those are all the requirements; check out the steps on how to download mods for Hogwarts Legacy below: 

• Once you have updated Hogwarts Legacy to the latest version, you will find a new ‘Play Mods’ option in the Main Menu. This new mode will allow players to view and install mods.
• Once opened, players will find 4 new tabs: Discover, Browse, Library, and Enable Mods. The first two will be used to find mods; the Library will be where your favourite and installed mods are saved, and Enable Mods will be the section where you can enable and disable mods.
• The Discover category will show players featured Hogwarts Legacy mods, and the Browse section will allow them to go through various mods with some additional filters.
• Once you find a mod you like, you can click on that mod and then press ‘Install’. Players will also find ‘Favourite’, ‘Rate’ and ‘Report’ options on this page. The more Ratings a mod has, the better it ranks in the Hogwarts Legacy mod manager.
• Once you have installed your preferred mods, head to the ‘Enable Mods’ tab to get started with the fun. Select which mods you wish to enable and then make a copy of your save file from this section. A copy has to be made to play the mods, and the developers have assured that it won’t impact the original save file.
• Then boot up the game from the same section and enjoy the new mods you have downloaded.
• Players should note that Hogwarts Legacy mods can only played through the ‘Enable Mods’ section in the new ‘Play Mods’ tool. If players load up the game normally, they can only access the vanilla version of the game.
