COWETA COUNTY, Ga. – The principal of a Coweta County elementary school is facing charges after deputies say she was caught on camera shoplifting from a local department store. Dr. Letitia J. Crosby, the principal of Thomas Crossroads Elementary, is charged with felony theft by shoplifting. What we know FOX 5 obtained the report from a Coweta County deputy that led to Crosby’s arrest. In the report, the deputy says that they had responded to the Kohl’s Department Store on the 1100 block of Bullsboro Drive on Jan. 13 after getting a report of a theft. One of the store’s employees told the deputy that a woman had walked through the store earlier in January, filled up a shopping cart, and then walked out of the front door without paying. According to the employee’s report, the woman entered Kohl’s on Jan. 6 and took T-shirts, sweaters, at least one dress, jewelry, gift bags, and more. She then allegedly exited the store with the goods without paying. The total for all the items taken was around $917, the deputy said. The employee also told investigators that this was not the first time the woman had tried to steal from the department store. She reportedly had previously been stopped from taking nearly $300 in merchandise without paying on Nov. 18, 2024. That incident had not been reported to law enforcement.
